ABOUT MISS DANMARK® The former Miss Denmark - Lisa Lents is behind the Miss Denmark® organisation, which is Denmark's leading organization within beauty contests. There are a lot of beauty pageants, but the Miss Denmark organization mainly deals with "Grand Slam" beauty pageants, such as Miss Universe, Miss World, Miss Earth, Miss International, Miss Supranational and Miss Grand International. We work thoroughly and ambitiously to scout, cast and select the women and men who will represent Denmark internationally, where great focus is placed on appearance, radiance, elegance, abilities in front of the camera and on the catwalk, as well as personality and ambitions. The Miss Denmark® organization has great ambitions to make Denmark one of the nations that are trusted in the wider world when it comes to international beauty contests. The organization has charity as its heart child. We work from a program "Beauty With A Purpose", which was founded back in 1972, by the founder behind the British Miss World Organisation, Julia Morley. Since then, Miss World® has been involved in collecting donations for vulnerable and sick children in the world's hotspots through various charities. Every year, the Miss Denmark® organization chooses a charity that will be supported during the Miss Denmark® process. In addition to that, Miss Denmark® helps start 30 new charity projects with the Miss Denmark® finalists, who each choose an individual project that is close to them. Through the Miss Denmark competition, you get the opportunity to make a difference by focusing on a charity of your choice.

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
We are looking for young women who are interested in beauty, health, fashion, sports, education and have ambitions for the future. There are no height or girth requirements. At Miss Denmark® we focus a lot on diversity and with our Top 30 to be selected for the Miss Denmark® 2019 competition, we want to show that Danish beauties come in all heights, shapes, colors and types. Every year we put together a very different top with candidates from all over Denmark, as well as Greenland and the Faroe Islands. Some have more shapes than others, some have a typical model height of min. 173 cm, others are 160 cm. It doesn't matter, as long as you have a positive attitude towards things, have a strong aura, good energy and are happy for new experiences and challenges. You must have some future goals & ambitions, as well as the desire to make a difference. A big smile and joie de vivre are an important part of a beauty contest, so make sure you send some photos in your application where we can see them.
CASTINGS/PERSONAL MEETING WITH THE MISS DENMARK TEAM
At the Miss Denmark ® Organization, we are always at work. We work thoroughly and ambitiously to scout, cast and select the women who will compete for the prestigious Miss Denmark ® title. To get to the casting, which is a personal meeting with the Miss Denmark panel, you must first of all meet the requirements. If you do, you must send us an application. Among the applications, we select the most relevant ones and call for a personal casting. The casting takes place in a very informal & cozy way, where we just have to get to know you. You have to go through a personal interview, have photos taken and learn about how to walk a catwalk. I.E. that it is NOT a requirement to have experience with model work or the like. You will be guided through the entire process and only receive constructive feedback that you can work on. We often find that people are initially nervous about coming to the casting because they have an idea of getting a lot of criticism, but when they have finally been to the casting, they come out with a positive experience and a new confidence.
SELECTION OF FINALISTS
When all castings for Miss Denmark® 2019 are over, those selected will be notified if they have made it into the Top 30. From there, the preparation process for Miss Denmark® 2019 starts. The selected Miss Denmark® 2019 Finalists will be in Bootcamps over several weekends where they will be trained in posing, have pictures taken, learn to walk the catwalk and pose, perform, give speeches, receive media training etc. of the country's best experts in the field. ABOUT MISS WORLD
Miss World is considered to be the oldest beauty pageant in the world, which was founded by Erik Morley in England in 1951. The pageant was held for the first time on 29 July 1951 at the Lyceum Ballroom in London with 26 participants. It started as a bikini competition to promote the latest trends in swimwear, but was called "Miss World" by the media. The Miss World Organization then decided to turn the competition into an annual event, as well as create more content in the form of various sub-competitions. The first ever winner of Miss World was Kiki Håkansson from Sweden.
Between 100-130 countries send a representative to the grand international final each year, bringing Miss World almost on par with the Olympic Games in terms of international participation. It is the 3rd most watched event in the world, being broadcast to 2.2 billion television viewers. Miss World belongs to the Grand Slam beauty pageants, along with rivals Miss Universe and Miss Earth, which are considered to be the biggest and most exposed pageants in the world.
