Hello, my name is Sara Gouda. I'm an Egyptian journalist currently living in Canada. Though I’ve been an immigrant since the age of two, I had the privilege of growing up in Abu Dhabi—where I went to school, university, got my driver’s license, and began shaping my identity. I later pursued my post secondary education and work in Canada.
I’m incredibly proud to have grown up in the UAE, a country that has always felt like a safe space for women and a welcoming home for immigrants. It’s a place that celebrates culture, heritage, and generosity.
Being an immigrant comes with its own set of challenges, but I consider it a blessing to have more than one place to call home. You can be worldly and well-traveled while still deeply rooted in your heritage. You can chase your dreams across continents while carrying your Egyptian identity proudly in your heart.
To me, Miss Middle East is not just a title—it’s a responsibility. I look forward to using this platform to give back to the community and to help every woman feel like she belongs. Thank you."
